Independence Day Event
Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) celebrated 75th Independence Day with huge Pomp and Joy. And on this great day, PEC Robotics Society added to the flamboyance of this event with their technical display and caused a whim of excitement in audiences. The Robotics team made an eye catching wireless Bluetooth controlled robot through which they served momento to the chief guest and distributed prizes amongst winners. It was a wonderful display of technology. But this wasn't enough, Robotics society also had an amazing drone prepared for flag hoisting ceremony. It was just like cherry on the cake.
- The Robot was made from an iron chassis built by the students themselves and Arduino was used as the microcontroller in it.
- Robotics society also had an amazing drone prepared for flag hoisting ceremony.
- The drone was used to shower petals on the people present in the ceremony.
Soldering Workshop
The students were told about the basics of soldering and were also taught how to make a night light circuit.
3D Printing and Fusion 360 Workshop
The Robotics Society organized a workshop on Fusion 360. The workshop aimed to introduce students to the world of 3D modeling and printing and how it can be used to design and create complex objects.
- The workshop also introduced students to the world of 3D printing, including the different types of 3D printer available and the material used in printing process.
- Students also learned about the importance of print settings and how to troubleshoot common issues in 3D printing.
Git and Github Workshop
The Robotics Society recently organized a workshop on Git and GitHub for college students. The workshop aimed to introduce students to the world of version control and how it can be used to collaborate and manage code efficiently. Git is a powerful version control system that allows users to track changes to their code and collaborate with others effectively. The workshop covered the basics of Git, including how to create repositories, commit changes, and manage branches.
- The workshop also introduced students to GitHub, a popular web-based Git repository hosting service. Students learned how to use GitHub to collaborate on projects with others, including how to fork and clone repositories, submit pull requests, and merge changes.
- The workshop was a great success and provided students with a valuable opportunity to learn about the exciting field of version control and collaboration.
LinkedIn and Resume Building Workshop
The Robotics Society recently organized a workshop on LinkedIn and Resume Building for college students. The workshop aimed to provide students with valuable insights on how to build an impressive resume and develop a strong LinkedIn profile. During the workshop, students learned about the essential elements of a great resume, including formatting, content, and structure. They also received tips on how to tailor their resume for specific job applications and how to highlight their skills and experience effectively.
- Tailor your resume for each job application to highlight your relevant skills and experience.
- Use bullet points and action verbs to make your resume concise and impactful.
- Use your LinkedIn profile to showcase your professional brand and network with others in your field.
RC Plane Workshop
The Robotics Society recently organized an exhilarating event showcasing the talents of budding engineers from the 1st and 2nd year. The event revolved around the creation of an RC (Remote Control) plane, where these enthusiastic students put their skills to the test. With a passion for robotics and a drive for innovation, the students meticulously designed and built their RC planes from scratch. The event not only celebrated their creativity and technical prowess but also provided them with an invaluable learning experience. It served as a platform for students to apply their theoretical knowledge practically, fostering teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking. The event culminated in an exciting competition, where the RC planes took to the skies, maneuvering through the air with precision and grace. It was an inspiring sight to witness the hard work and dedication of these young engineers come to life as their planes soared through the sky, leaving everyone in awe. The event by the Robotics Society showcased the potential of these talented students and highlighted the importance of robotics in shaping the future of technology.
Basic Electronics Workshop
The students were taught about the various components used in a basic electronic circuit.
Arduino Workshop
Students were taught about the various functions and uses of microcontrollers. We also made circuits with the help of Arduino and ESP-32.
- Understanding what an Arduino is and how it works
- Programming Arduino with code (using C and C++) that you've written in the Arduino IDE
- Building a small but innovative project with Arduino
Techfest (IIT Bombay)
The Punjab Engineering College (PEC) in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay recently conducted a robotics workshop at the PEC campus in Punjab. The aim of the workshop was to provide hands-on experience to students in the field of robotics and to give them an opportunity to learn from experts in the field.
- The theoretical sessions provided a solid foundation for the students to understand the basics of robotics, while the practical sessions allowed them to apply their knowledge and build robots.
- The competition gave students an opportunity to showcase their skills and creativity, and it was great to see the level of innovation and design that went into each robot.
- It provided students with a unique opportunity to learn from experts in the field, and to gain hands-on experience in building and programming robots.
